Job Vacancy – Regulatory Ecotoxicologist – PFA Ltd

August 26th, 2021

Peter Fisk Associates is a well-respected chemical consultancy specialising in the assessment of hazards and risks of substances to human health and the environment, predominately for regulatory purposes. PFA also works in the area of chemical policy on projects run by the European Commission and other governmental bodies.

We currently have a vacancy for a Regulatory Ecotoxicologist within our well-established Ecotoxicity Team. The role is desk-based and involves the review and interpretation of ecotoxicological (and related) study data generated to comply with EU, UK and global regulation of industrial chemicals, biocidal products, professional and consumer products.

You will have the opportunity to contribute at a technical level to multi-disciplinary scientific teams working in projects relating to regulation of chemicals and biocidal products, including undertaking the role of Study Monitor for new studies being performed at external laboratories on behalf of our clients. The role does not include any line management responsibilities, but is likely to involve some project management responsibilities as well as interaction with clients. The ideal candidate will therefore be organised, flexible and have effective communication skills.

The position is suitable for applicants holding a minimum BSc in a relevant life sciences discipline and at least 3 years’ experience, preferably working within a Contract Research Organisation or industrial regulatory compliance department, and with detailed knowledge of OECD Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals.

When restrictions are lifted, either continuing to work from home or relocation to our offices near Canterbury will be possible. There will also be opportunities to travel to our offices in Brussels, Belgium to work with our staff there.

Availability to start by end of November 2021 will be a significant advantage. Remuneration packages are competitive with industry norms, dependent on experience.

The successful candidate must, by the start of their employment, have the right to work in the United Kingdom. For guidance, please refer to the UK government website https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/uk-visas-and-immigration.

Please apply in writing with a covering letter and CV to info@pfagroup.eu

The closing date for applications is 8th October 2021.
